The short version

  • Chart GT is a charting tool, not investment advice. Your trades are your decisions.
  • Market data comes from third parties and can be delayed or wrong. It is for display here only.
  • Backtests are hypothetical, and alerts can be late or missed. Never rely on one alone.
  • Paid plans renew until you cancel. Cancel any time and keep your plan until the period ends.
  • You own your scripts. Hidden-source scripts stay hidden; don’t try to extract them.

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Chart GT (“we”, “us”) and cover the website, charts, Pine Script editor, backtests, alerts, community scripts and every other part of the service. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you use the service for a company, you accept them for that company and confirm you may do so.

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and able to enter a binding contract. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data and is part of these terms.

2. Your account

Give us accurate details and keep them current. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it. If you sign in with Google, Google's terms apply to that sign-in.

An account is for one person. Don't share, sell or transfer it, and don't open extra accounts to get around plan limits, a free trial or a suspension.

3. Not investment advice

Chart GT is a charting and analysis tool. We are not a broker, a dealer, an exchange or an investment adviser, and nothing on the service is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, cryptocurrency or other instrument. Charts, indicators, strategies, backtests, alerts, community scripts, descriptions and reviews are general information for educational purposes. They don't take your finances, goals or risk tolerance into account, and using the service creates no advisory or fiduciary relationship between you and us or between you and any script author.

Trading and investing involve substantial risk, including the loss of more than you put in when you use leverage. You alone decide what to trade and you are responsible for the results. Talk to a licensed professional before making financial decisions.

Community scripts are written by their authors, not by us. We don't check that a script works as described, and an author's claims about performance are their own.

4. Market data

Prices, volumes and company information come from third-party providers (currently Tiingo; intraday stock prices from the IEX exchange, crypto prices aggregated across exchanges) and logos from logo.dev and CoinGecko. Data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, intraday stock volume may cover IEX only, and bars can be revised. Check prices with your broker before you act on them. Neither we nor our providers guarantee the data's accuracy, completeness or timeliness.

Market data is licensed to you for display on Chart GT, for your own use. You may not copy, export in bulk, redistribute, resell or publish it, feed it to another application or trading system, or use our API outside the website.

5. Backtests and hypothetical performance

Strategy Tester reports, equity curves and every other backtest figure are hypothetical. They come from applying a strategy to past data, and past performance, simulated or real, does not predict future results.

Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.

Backtests also assume the commission, slippage and fills set in the strategy, which may not match what your broker would give you.

6. Alerts and webhooks

We check alerts on our servers and send them by email, webhook and in-app notification. We work to deliver every alert promptly, but alerts can arrive late, more than once or not at all: data can be delayed, emails can be filtered, and the endpoint you give us can be down. Don't rely on an alert as your only safeguard for a position.

We never place orders. If you send webhooks to a broker, bot or other system that trades, you are responsible for that system, for what it does with our messages and for securing the endpoint. Webhook URLs must point to systems you are allowed to send data to; we may block addresses that are private, unsafe or failing.

7. Plans, billing and cancellation

The Free plan costs nothing. Paid plans (Essential, Premium and Ultimate) are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices and what each plan includes are on the pricing page; prices exclude taxes, which we add where required.

  • Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price for your plan until you cancel. We will email you at least 30 days before a price increase applies to your subscription.
  • Upgrades take effect at once, and we charge the prorated difference for the rest of the period. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal; until then you keep your current plan.
  • Cancelling. Cancel any time from the pricing page; you don't need to contact us. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then your account moves to Free. Nothing is deleted, but anything above the Free plan's limits (for example alerts beyond the limit) stays paused until you upgrade again.
  • Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we don't refund partly used periods. If you think you were charged in error, write to [email protected] within 14 days of the charge and we will look at it.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails we will retry it and may move your account to Free until it succeeds. If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of contacting us, we may suspend paid features while the dispute is open.

Plan limits (charts, indicators, alerts, history and so on) are part of what you buy, and we may enforce them technically. We may change plan features; if a change takes away something important from a paid plan you have, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel.

8. Your scripts and content

You own the scripts, layouts, drawings, descriptions and reviews you create (“your content”). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, run, copy and display your content as needed to provide the service: for example, to run a protected script on our servers for its users, or to show a published script in the community library. Private scripts stay private: only you can see or run them.

When you publish a script to the community:

  • Open-source scripts show their code to everyone and can be copied and forked. Unless you state another open-source licence in the code, you publish them under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Forks must credit the original and stay open-source.
  • Protected, invite-only and paid scripts keep their code hidden. We run them on our servers and never send their source to other users.
  • Your handle, display name, profile, published scripts, ratings and reviews are public.

You confirm that you have the right to publish your content, that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights, and that its description is honest. Don't publish someone else's code as your own, scripts that are misleading about what they do or how they performed, or content that is illegal, abusive or spam. We may remove content or unpublish scripts that break these terms. To report content that infringes your copyright, write to [email protected] with the script's link, the work you own and your contact details.

9. Selling scripts

Selling scripts and inviting people to invite-only scripts are part of the Ultimate plan. Sellers set up a payout account with Stripe, accept Stripe's terms and pass its checks. We act as the merchant of record for script sales: buyers pay us, and Stripe pays you your share.

  • We keep a platform fee of 15% of each payment and pay the payment processing fees out of it; you receive the rest (85%). We may change the fee with 30 days' notice.
  • You can sell for a one-time price or monthly, with an optional free trial (one per buyer per script). Unpublishing a paid script, or making it free, stops renewals, but buyers keep the periods they paid for. A script that others have paid for can be unpublished but not deleted.
  • If a payment is refunded or reversed, the buyer loses access and you don't receive (or must return) your share of it.
  • You support your scripts, answer buyers' reasonable questions, and are responsible for taxes on your earnings. You may sell access only through Chart GT checkout: invite-only access may not be sold or traded elsewhere.

10. Buying scripts

Buying a script gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it on Chart GT for as long as your purchase or subscription lasts. It doesn't give you its source code. The author, not us, is responsible for what the script does, and may update it. Monthly script subscriptions renew until you cancel and end at the end of the paid period. Refund requests go to [email protected]; refunds are at our discretion unless the law requires them.

11. Referral program

Every account has a referral link. When someone opens your link and creates a new account within 60 days, they become your referral:

  • Your friend gets 20% off their first payment for a plan, monthly or annual, if they have never had a paid plan.
  • You earn a $10 credit once your friend's first payment is 14 days old and they still have a paid plan. The credit comes off your next plan bills. If you're not on a paid plan, it waits until you are.
  • You can earn up to 25 rewards in any 12 months. Credit has no cash value, can't be transferred and applies only to Chart GT plans.

Referring yourself, through another account or address of yours, doesn't count. Neither does spam, paid ads that bid on our name, or misleading claims about the service. We may withhold or remove credit gained that way, and change or end the program with notice; credit you already earned stays.

12. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • try to extract, decompile or reconstruct the source of a protected, invite-only or paid script, or share access to one with people who haven't got it;
  • scrape the site, download market data in bulk, or access the service with bots or automated tools other than the alerts and webhooks we provide;
  • probe, overload or break our systems, get around plan limits, rate limits or security, or use Pine scripts to attack our servers or anyone else;
  • copy, frame or mirror the service, or use it to build a competing product;
  • use the service for fraud, market manipulation, unlicensed investment advice or anything illegal;
  • harass other users, impersonate anyone, or post spam or malware.

13. Our intellectual property and open-source software

The service, its design, code and the Chart GT name and logo belong to us or our licensors. Apart from the rights these terms give you, we don't license anything to you.

Charts are drawn with Vela by LuxAlgo, and Pine Script runs on PineTS, which is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. Where an open-source licence gives you rights, such as the right to the source of a component we run, those rights apply in addition to these terms; ask at [email protected].

TradingView and Pine Script are trademarks of TradingView, Inc., and LuxAlgo and Vela of their owner. Chart GT is not affiliated with or endorsed by either.

14. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

15. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account in Settings. Cancel any plan or script subscriptions first: deleting an account doesn't refund the current period, and an account whose scripts other people still have access to is closed by writing to [email protected].

We may suspend or close your account, remove content or stop alerts if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the service or other users. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it first. If we close your account without cause, we will refund the unused part of a prepaid plan.

Sections that by their nature should survive (such as not-advice, licences you gave us for published content, disclaimers, liability and disputes) survive termination.

16. Disclaimers

The service, market data, scripts and backtests are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and we don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, trading losses, lost data or business interruption, arising from the service, market data, alerts, scripts or backtests, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.

Some places don't allow these limits; where they don't, they apply only as far as the law permits, and nothing here limits liability that can't be limited, such as for fraud or, where applicable, your rights as a consumer.

18. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, your scripts, your use of webhooks or your breach of these terms, you will cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim. Disputes between users, such as between a buyer and a script author, are between them.

19. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Chart GT is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country whose consumer law gives you more protection, you keep that protection and can bring claims in your local courts.

Before going to court, please write to [email protected] and give us 30 days to try to resolve the problem informally. Most problems are solved that way.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, email you or tell you in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, cancel and stop using it.

21. Contact

Questions about these terms: [email protected]. More ways to get help are on the Contact us page.
